Respect is such an important component required in our love relationships. But many times a strong sense of respect is lacking, which can eventually erode the love between two people. The definition of respect is “a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements.” Respect shows up as our genuine appreciation for our loved ones—who they are and how they show up in the world and gratitude for having that person in our lives.
Certainly our world has been changing, where respect for women is becoming more of a conscious issue in our world consciousness. It may seem like a given that in a love relationship there would automatically be respect. But I know firsthand of relationships where the woman is not being honored or respected for the unique and valuable individual she is. I’m sure it happens the other way around, also, and I am a champion for respect involving both sexes. The old paradigm of the man being more superior is fading away, being replaced by higher vibrations of equality between the sexes.
We are all spiritual beings moving through our human experience and evolving upward and as we learn to say “no” to not being valued and respected, we bring new paradigms of thought and realization to the planet.
Every person has a deep yearning to know that they have importance in the world, to know that their life has made a difference, to be respected and acknowledged. Let us hold the vision for our partnerships, that they be models of mutual respect and admiration along with the unconditional love.
