Passionate life! Passionate love! The stuff romantic stories are made of. Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines passion as “a strong feeling of enthusiasm or excitement for something or about doing something.” I’m all for living the passionate life! But I didn’t always feel that way. For the first half of my life, I had been unknowingly depressed, feeling hopeless and lackadaisical, being pushed and pulled by the winds of change and not having focus or direction. Or I didn’t feel totally alive and excited about life. Sure, there were the fleeting infatuations of “love” and passion, but those wore off to reveal the reality of the real person and staying together through that reality was where the proof came in that it was or wasn’t the real thing!
But something shifted along the way and I came to know that life itself is this great, big opportunity to be, have or do whatever it is we want and to have passion—that strong feeling of enthusiasm or excitement for something or about doing something—is what is so exciting about the gift of life! The possibilities are endless for a passionate life and a passionate Big Love!
Yes, there is the infatuation stage of a love relationship. But, when we continue to know what a gift we have when we’ve found our true love and continue to celebrate that beautiful experience, we can keep the passion alive within ourselves and within our love!
